Carnival just made its biggest package move in years. Four new FunPacks bundle drinks, Wi-Fi, excursions, dining, spa, and photos into one daily price, and the cruise line says the bundles save 30 to 55 percent over buying everything separately. Alongside them came a brand-new beverage tier and a heads-up that drink and Wi-Fi prices go dynamic on December 1.
Here is what each pack holds, what the savings claims actually mean, and the fine print that decides whether any of them is a deal for your sailing.

Kidstarter: $25 per day
Built for kids and teens, ages 3 to 17. It packs the Bottomless Bubbles soda and juice package (with the souvenir cup), Social Wi-Fi, 1,000 arcade tokens, a Carnival lanyard, and 50 percent off bulk candy at Cherry on Top.
Carnival says it saves up to 50 percent versus the pieces on their own. If you have a kid who lives on soda, arcade games, and candy runs, the pieces add up fast. If your teen spends the whole week at the pool and barely touches the arcade, it does not.
Zero Proof: $50 per day
The non-drinker's pack. It includes the CHEERS! Zero Proof package (unlimited non-alcoholic drinks: zero-proof cocktails, specialty coffees, milkshakes, energy drinks, bottled water), Value Wi-Fi, a $50 shore excursion discount, and a $25 specialty dining discount.
Carnival puts the savings at up to 35 percent. The excursion and dining bits are discounts, not freebies, so run the math on whether you would buy them anyway. This is the pack for the wellness-minded cruiser, the designated driver of the group, or the person who drinks mocktails like it is their job.
Social: $60 per day
This is the genuinely new thing. Social includes a brand-new beverage tier called CHEERS! Social, which exists only inside this bundle: three alcoholic drinks a day plus unlimited non-alcoholic drinks. It also carries Premium Wi-Fi, one shore excursion included (up to $100), one specialty dining meal included (up to $55), 50 percent off eligible spa treatments, and 50 percent off Dreams Studio photo packages.
Carnival says up to 50 percent savings. The three-drink-a-day tier is the interesting move: it slots in for the sunset-cocktail crowd who never came close to justifying the full CHEERS! package. If you are already buying Premium Wi-Fi and planning one excursion and one specialty dinner, Social starts to look like the pack that was built around a normal vacation.
Epic: $99 per day
The everything pack. Full CHEERS! (up to 15 alcoholic drinks a day plus unlimited non-alcoholic drinks), Premium Wi-Fi, two shore excursions included (up to $100 each), two specialty dining meals included (up to $55 each), 50 percent off spa treatments and Dreams Studio photos, a bottle of sparkling wine, and a bag of wash-and-fold laundry.
Carnival claims up to 55 percent savings. On a seven-day cruise that is $693 per person for the week, and you would need to actually use the two excursions and two specialty dinners (worth up to $310 combined) to make the headline savings real. Big drinkers who excursion twice and eat specialty twice? Solid. Everyone else should read on.
The fine print that decides everything
Two rules matter more than the savings percentages.
First: adults 21 and older sharing a cabin must buy the same FunPack. If you are an Epic and your cabinmate is a one-glass-of-wine sailor, you both pay Epic. This is the rule that quietly kills most of the value for mismatched couples.
Second: the discounts generally cannot be combined with other promotional offers, including certain loyalty, casino, and shareholder benefits. And the excursion, dining, spa, and photo perks have to be reserved before sailing, so this is a pre-cruise planning game, not a show-up-and-wing-it one.
Note also that the included excursions and specialty meals are per cruise, not per day. The per-day price applies to every day of the sailing, but you only get the one (Social) or two (Epic) excursions total.
Dynamic pricing arrives December 1
Starting December 1, 2026, Carnival is adding dynamic pricing to its beverage packages and Wi-Fi plans. That means the price of a drink package or internet plan will vary with sailing length, itinerary, and season, the way cruise fares already do.
Translation: booking a FunPack now locks the advertised price before the variable pricing kicks in. Whether dynamic pricing lands higher or lower on your sailing is unknowable today, but the current prices are the last ones that are flat across the board.
Which one is actually worth it
The honest test is one question: would you buy each piece on its own?
- A family with soda-loving kids: Kidstarter probably pays for itself by day three.
- The mocktail-and-coffee cruiser: Zero Proof makes sense if you drink five-plus specialty drinks a day.
- The three-drinks-and-a-good-dinner traveler: Social is the sweet spot, and the Wi-Fi and excursion it carries are things you were buying anyway.
- The full-send vacationer who drinks, excursions twice, and eats specialty twice: Epic earns its name.
- The mismatch cabin: do the math for both people at the same tier. This is where the savings evaporate.
Before you click buy, run your own numbers against what you would actually spend. The drink package calculator on CruiseStar will tell you in about a minute whether a package beats paying per drink on your sailing.
And if you sailed Carnival recently, drop a rating on the ship you were on so the next sailor is not guessing blind.
