How the cruise price calculator fits together
Start with the real fare
Use either a CruiseStar deal or the per-person fare from a quote you already have. The calculator treats that number as the cruise fare before optional taxes, gratuities, and packages.
Layer the costs people forget
Daily service charges, drink packages, Wi‑Fi, and specialty dining often matter more than a small fare difference. Toggle only what you plan to buy so the total stays honest.
Check for a cheaper same sailing
If you enter a manual quote with ship and sail date, CruiseStar compares active deals for that same sailing. When a lower fare shows up, it surfaces at the top of your breakdown so you can open the deal before you book elsewhere.
Price calculator FAQ
Is the cruise price calculator free?
Yes. It is a free planning tool on CruiseStar. It does not place a booking by itself.
Are the totals exact?
No. They are planning estimates. Your booking confirmation, cabin category, and current package rates always win.
What does the cheaper sailing alert mean?
When you enter a manual fare with a ship and sail date, and CruiseStar has an active deal for that same sailing at a lower per-person fare, the calculator highlights the savings at the top of the breakdown.
Can I use a CruiseStar deal as the starting price?
Yes. Pick a deal in the quiz and the fare, nights, ship, and line fill in automatically. You can still add packages and gratuities on top.
